Students

Over 30 students worked on the CubeSat in various stages. Some participated in summer and academic year research programs while others participated in Special Topics and existing courses. Students were funded by several awards including the National Space Grant Minority Serving Partnership awardPartners page), the New York State Space Grant Consortium, the CUNY/GSFC Heliophysics Education Consortium, the NASA New York Research Initiative, the NSF REU CUNY/GISS Center for Global Climate Research and the NSF NYC LSAMP Program.

Participating students were from CUNY colleges including Medgar Evers College, Queensborough Community College, the College of Staten Island, the City College of New York, Brooklyn College and New York City Technical College. Other students were from Cooper Union, New Jersey Institute of Technology and Cornell University. Students followed a systems engineering process which included Preliminary Design and Critical Design Reviews with external reviewers from UTAS/Goodrich, Honeybee Robotics, Lockheed Martin, GSFC and Cornell University.
